Ron James is Golden West Radio's classical music host on Evening Concert, Gems of Melody, Sunday Pops Concert, and Classics Till Dawn. Now semi-retired after some 30 years in the radio industry, Ron is anticipating extra time with his grand-children, and pursuing other personal interests.

Clint Klassen joined CFAM in 1999. His computer-savvy is suited to the detail-reliant Scott Studios on-air system. Clint and wife Jenn have set up their household nearby, and are enjoying their new roles as parents.

Samantha Schwartz is the voice of CFAM’s “Senior High Five,” a radio billboard for local high school events heard on the weekday morning show. She also hosts Saturday afternoons. You also hear her friendly voice on Sunday and Monday evenings. For a sixteen-year-old who loves to shop, a car probably figures into her near future. Sam graduated from W.C. Miller Collegiate in June.

Kara Funk in one of our evening hosts on CFAM. Heading into her senior high school years, university and a career as a translator are part of her future plans. This Carrie Underwood fan is a multi-faceted music lover -- she enjoys playing guitar, piano and singing. Other pursuits include soccer, swimming and rock climbing. Someday Kara hopes to travel the world.

Saturday morning host Eva Heide joined Golden West 14 years ago. After spending the first number of years in Winkler, Eva relocated to the Altona area in 1999. Having recently traded in "idle days" for motherhood, she vaguely remembers the joy of gardening, meeting friends over a cup of coffee, and afternoons browsing antique shops - all past times she looks forward to enjoying again. For now, you may find Eva at "mom's morning out" or reliving her childhood – baby in tow -- at the park.

Born and raised in Steinbach, Lawn & Garden Journal host Duayne Friesen got involved in the greenhouse business when his parents started a small greenhouse operation as a hobby. Duayne graduated from the University of Guelph with a diploma in Horticulture in 1989. Today he's the General Manager of Lacoste Greenhouse and Garden Centre on the St. Mary’s Road, one of the largest and oldest garden centers in Winnipeg. Since 1998 he has loved the thrill of doing live radio and talking about his favorite subject. Duayne and his wife Bev have two children.

Harold Giesbrecht’s passion for southern gospel music has helped make Heart Of The South become a CFAM / AM 1250 listener favorite on Saturday evenings. Harold’s pursuit of a radio career led him from his home town of Pilot Mound to the in-house station at Red River College in Winnipeg and a stint at two mission-based stations in Alaska. He landed at Golden West Radio in 1998. Harold also has a heart for traveling to southern beaches in winter, gospel music festivals, and people. You can reach him or comment on his program by emailing
