Derek Heide

Derek Heide produces the Manitoba Farm Journal with farm broadcaster Kelvin Heppner. He joined CFAM in 2007 as our Summer Events Co-ordinator. Derek's career in radio could take him in several directions. He's a big pro sports fan (football and hockey specifically), and enjoys going for a round of golf. As a self-confessed "weather enthusiast," Derek is one of the few who gets excited about a severe thunderstorm or tornado watch. His dream of becoming a play-by-play sportscaster may be close at hand – listen for his voice on our sister station's (CKMW) Zone 4 High School hockey broadcasts.
